Teacher Training

Fueled by 20 years of teaching dance in schools across the nation, Sue now travels to present workshops clinics for teachers – teaching teachers how to teach dance.

Teachers learning how to square dance with Sue Hulsether.

Sue is adept in conveying ways to use folk dance to teach music standards, enhance social and emotional learning in the classroom, and build community. Participants leave Sue's workshops with smiles on their faces, new dance repertoire, and realistic techniques to quickly and easily get their students dancing -- and joyfully so.

I look to Sue as a beloved mentor for her impeccable dance repertoire, her deep awareness of the art of teaching dance, and the straightforward articulation of what she does. Her skill with repertoire, vocabulary, teaching techniques, and calling is inspiring.

Sue Hulsether is a superb dance leader and educator with both children and with adults. When I have attended Sue’s dance workshops, it has been one “Aha!” moment after another. Sue’s teaching is energetic, efficient, eloquent, and contagiously joyful.
